Shaista Roshan is an Indo-Arab filmmaker raised in the UAE, she finds beauty in hybrids and the unique perspective it allows.  She believes it to be her lowkey superpower!

A 2024 Canadian Film Centre Producer lab alum & Founder of Shifting Sands, she works as an independent Creative producer with internationally renowned award-winning directors and writers, producing films that are currently making festival rounds in Canada, UK, USA  & Japan

Through her love for storytelling and its potential to inspire change, Shaista has worked creatively in the Television and Film space  for over 10 years in the Middle-East, South Asia and North America.

Her slate is reflective of her nomadic production experiences around the globe and aims to champion hy-stories that hone a hybrid quality that translates across varied cultures and its peoples.
